The Civic has been built around 5 door practicality but with dynamic 3 door looks. With its hidden rear door handles and intelligent use of space on the inside, this car is very versatile. With a selection of different engines and transmissions it means you can choose the Civic to suit your driving style.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Civic is its striking appearance. The shape has been designed as one flowing line, from the front, now with a new front grille and the wraparound headlights, right through to the tapered rear spoiler that improves aerodynamics and reduces drag. This shape is
complemented by triangular design details in the fog lights, door handles and twin exhausts. It’s the little details that make a big impression.

We have always believed that the most important part of the car is the driver. The Dual Zone dashboard is designed to make it as easy as possible for the driver to view the instruments whilst driving. Essential information is shown in the upper area including speed and a row of LEDs indicating fuel economy and engine revs. The lower area shows the rev counter and the multi-information display. This shows everything from mileage and fuel economy figures, to the distance until the car needs refuelling and even the outside temperature. With all the buttons close by for air conditioning, stereo and cruise control, it feels great to have so much control at your fingertips.

That’s why we’ve designed stylish front seats with built-in spine, torso and pelvis support for a firm yet comfortable feel. But the seats aren’t just supportive, they’re clever. Stretch your legs out and you’ll find generous leg room. It’s the same in the rear. It means everyone can have a comfortable journey. Dual zone air conditioning allows you and your passenger to set different temperatures. With the Civic we want everyone inside to enjoy the journey as much as the driver.

At Honda we love challenges. It makes us think differently and it produces innovative solutions like Magic Seats. One moment they are a set of three comfortable rear seats, but with a simple lift the two seat bases can be folded up to reveal extra space. This means even awkward objects like a bicycle can be fitted in behind the driver with a simple flip of the seats. The result is a substantial 415 litres of practical rear seat space made available. And for those occasions when you have even more items to transport, the Magic Seats reveal their other feature. With the use of a single lever, the rear seats can be folded down to reveal a flat floor and more than an enormous 1,300 litres of storage space.

Within the boot area, there’s hidden under floor storage to give you a further 70 litres of space. Even if the front seat is pushed back as far as it will go, the rear seat can still fold flat with the head restraints attached. So having all this space is great, but how are you going to load it all in? How about doors that open almost 90 degrees for easy access? At Honda we understand that answers sometimes come from asking the right questions.

At Honda we understand that everybody has their own driving style and preferences. To give you a choice we have made a selection of different engines and transmissions available in the Civic. The efficient 1.4 i-VTEC petrol engine uses our innovative variable valve timing and lift control, which helps it to deliver optimum fuel economy at low revs and more power at high revs. The 1.4 i-VTEC engine is now available with our next generation 6-speed i-SHIFT automated manual transmission. With technology that allows you to choose the way you want to drive, it’s been designed to give smooth and quick changes between gears, while improving fuel economy and emissions. There’s a fully automatic mode for a relaxed drive or a manual mode where you can change gear using the gear shift or the steering wheel mounted paddle shifts.

The 1.4 i-VTEC is also available with a manual gearbox with 6 gears for improved efficiency at high speeds. The more powerful 1.8 i-VTEC petrol engine uses the same innovative technology as the 1.4 i-VTEC. This allows it to have the efficiency of a 1.6 litre engine at low revs, but the power of a larger engine at high revs. The 1.8 i-VTEC is available with a new refined 5-speed automatic transmission to deliver a smooth driving experience. Or if you prefer, there is the more involving 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Civic is also available with the powerful 2.2 i-CTDi diesel engine that combines 340 Nm of torque and 140PS. Made from aluminium, it is lightweight, which also helps it to deliver excellent fuel economy and maintain low CO2 emissions, and is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
