In this latest incarnation, we’ve incorporated a number of small but significant changes to lift it even higher.
For example, there are subtle adjustments to the car’s nose and front bumper, plus new arrow-shaped indicator lamps integrated into the side mirrors. Striking new alloy wheels have been fitted and the racing-style tailpipes are now a distinctive trapezium shape. And we’ve added stylish dark-tinted tail lights and chrome-rimmed fog lamps.
The latest SLK-Class interior features an array of stylish new touches including a redesigned instrument cluster with chrome-edged dials and red needles. We’ve also fitted a striking new 3-spoke sports steering wheel, which perfectly complements the sculpted sports seats with lightweight magnesium frames.
The vario-roof means the SLK-Class moves effortlessly from coupe to roadster and back again.
Thanks to the intelligently designed folding mechanism, when the roof is lowered the SLK is still able to boast 185 litres of luggage space. With the roof up, this increases to an impressive 277 litres.
Opening and closing the roof is effortless with the optional infra-red remote control integrated into the key.
The new SLK-Class delivers the aerodynamic ability its muscular curves suggest. From the steeply-raked windscreen and wide front spoiler, to the strongly-tapered rear end – the car is designed to cut through the air with ease.
To get the most out of a roadster, it helps if you can put more in – whether it’s a set of golf clubs or luggage for a weekend away. So we’ve designed the SLK-Class with this in mind. With the roof up the boot offers a generous 300 litre loadspace and even when it’s retracted, there’s still 208 litres available. The car also features an array of practical stowage solutions, including an extra-large glove compartment.
